Filmmaking

I’m Jackson Pearson, an Indigenous filmmaker from Alaska with Tlingit and Anishinaabe heritage. My storytelling approach is influenced by my deep connections to place, community, and personal experiences.

My work is dedicated to exploring narratives that are intricately tied to people and the environment, where culture, land, and identity converge. I am particularly passionate about projects that are authentic and real, whether they are documentary films that spotlight real communities or narrative works defined by atmosphere and visual aesthetics.

In recent years, I have produced and edited a variety of film projects that have reached broader audiences through screenings and events. This journey has allowed me to collaborate closely with community members, elders, and fellow creatives, enabling me to hone my skills in storytelling with sensitivity, intention, and respect. From a young age, I have immersed myself in the filmmaking process, actively engaging in filming, editing, and crafting narratives from start to completion.

Marketing & Media

In addition to my work in film, I have cultivated a strong background in creative marketing and media production. As a video editor and media manager for various organizations and creative spaces, I delve into the mechanics of visual storytelling and its impact on real-world audiences. My focus lies in crafting content that resonates, reinforces a brand or mission, and communicates effectively across digital platforms.

This journey has refined my understanding of clarity and purpose in visual communication. I prioritize not only the aesthetics of my visuals but also their intended audience and significance. My marketing experience has enhanced my ability to balance creativity with strategic thinking, ensuring a cohesive visual identity.
